photographs titled "Hindu Gods". The artwork on the cover is a common depiction in Hinduism of Lord Vishnu and his consort, the goddess Lakshmi.
Description of the Artwork
Lord Vishnu is shown reclining on the multi-headed serpent Shesha Naga, who is floating on the cosmic ocean. Vishnu is considered the preserver god in the Hindu trinity (Trimurti).
Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity, is seated at Vishnu's feet, massaging them.
A lotus flower is shown emerging from
Vishnu's navel, upon which sits Brahma, the four-headed creator god.
Other deities are also present, including Ganesha (far left center), Shiva and his consort Parvati (right center), and potentially the celestial sage Narada playing a veena (far left).
