JULEN (Christmas) plates were produced by Rörstrand every year from 1968 to 1999. Gunnar Nylund designed the decorations, which, except for the first two plates, were based on Selma Lagerlöf's book "The Wonderful Adventures of Nils" (The Wonderful Journey of Nils Holgersson through Sweden), published in 1906.
