Like its predecessor Kakerlakenpoker, Kakerlakenpoker Royal has nothing to do with poker, except that the game is based on bluffing, but with cards depicting cockroaches, rats, and stink bugs instead of queens, tens, and jacks.
To prepare the game, shuffle the cards and deal them to the players. On their turn, a player takes one card from their hand, places it face down on the table, slides it to the player of their
choice, and announces the type of creature, for example, "Stink Bug." The player receiving the card has the following options: Accept the card, say "true" or "false," and then reveal the card. If this player is wrong in their statement, they keep the card on the table in front of them face up; if they are right, the player who gave them the card places it face up in front of them.
To pass a card to another player, first look at it, then hold it face down and either name the original creature or name a new one. This new player again has the choice of accepting the card or passing it on, unless all the other players have already seen the card, in which case the player must accept it and say "true" or "false."
The game ends when a player has nothing left to pass on their turn, or when a player has four cards of the same creature in front of them on the table. In both cases, that player loses and all the others win. In addition, Kakerlakenpoker Royal adds new rules and new random "royal" creatures to give players more options during the game.
