Baby crib with drawers and mattress

Ikea crib with a drawer, it is possible to remove the side and put on a guard (as shown in the picture) when the little one has grown up so they don't fall out at night. I will include the other side, mattress. The mattress is perfectly clean, just small rust spots on the other side.
