Vintage German porcelain dish on a pedestal (most likely Dönner & Co. from Bavaria), produced in the second half of the 20th century in Dresden/Rococo style. A beautiful, high-quality vintage item. The roses are intact, the gold looks freshly applied. The dish has a diameter of 20 cm and a height of 9 cm. The inscription Handarbeit (handmade) on the bottom of the dish is not just marketing.
• Roses: These roses could not be molded together with the dish. They were crafted by special workers (called Bossiererin). They took raw porcelain mass in their hands, shaped each petal individually with their fingers, and then "attached" them to the dish before firing.
• This means that there are no two identical Dönner dishes in the world – each rose is slightly different. Nowadays, such handmade work in mass production practically no longer occurs, as it is too expensive.
