Teo's parents are divorced, and Teo spends one week with his mother, the next with his father. But it's too much for a small boy: protecting his parents, protecting the chance to be together (even if separately with each parent). If Teo were to reveal to someone how badly his father feels, unable to care for the boy, his mother would use it to revoke the father's custody rights because she hates him.
Teo seeks refuge in alcohol. He wants to reach alcohol-induced coma to gain relief from the
suffocating loyalty to his family. A family that, in reality, no longer exists.
Teo's teacher notices that something is wrong with him. She recognizes the true face of a child's loyalty, as she herself suffered from abuse in childhood and no one found out.
