Sounding... but the batteries haven't been changed at all since they were purchased... and I don't really have a screwdriver at home to change them... so I can't guarantee they will sound, as they don't sound right now, which is why I think the price is appropriate... An alphabet of this type cost around 20 euros... the books were bought new... used by one child!
