All design and creation activities took place in Gothenburg, where Maria created most of the products, sometimes with the support of freelance designers. In the fall of 2015, the company "AB Alrik Hedlund" acquired the brand "Cult Design," which is now located at Mölndalsvägen Street 95 in Gothenburg. Maria Lord was born in New York, her mother is Peruvian, and her father is from Romania. At six months old, she left the USA to live with her grandparents in Lima, Peru, which greatly influenced her artistic talent and design aesthetics.
