Clock, or at least the movement, was made by
Hans Winterhalder, Neustadt, Black Forest. The company was founded in 1919
by the son of Johann Winterhalder (of Winterhalder & Hofmeier) and is often
confused with W&H. No, the companies were separated all along.
The HWN logo was registered righton in 1919, the HAWINA logo followed ca. 1925,
the company then being renamed to Hausuhrenfabrik Winterhalder KG.
The company was taken over by other clock producers, including Junghans,
around 1930 and was closed down shortly after.
The D.R.P. and DRGM terms stand for patents and utility model protections, and there
should be numbers along with them. These numbers will give us an exact "not before" dating.
As usual, pictures of the clock and the movement (the rear side, that is) really bring the message
over and would make things much easier...
